Location
The Hyatt Regency Crystal City sits on Richmond Highway in Arlington, less than a mile from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) — close enough that the hotel runs its own complimentary shuttle rather than leaning on transit. Crystal City Metro (Blue and Yellow lines) is about half a mile on foot; Pentagon City Metro is roughly a mile. The Pentagon and the 9/11 Pentagon Memorial are about a mile and a half north, and downtown Washington is a 15-minute Metro ride. The hotel connects to Crystal City’s underground pedestrian mall with shops and restaurants.
The Property
The Hyatt Regency Crystal City is a large convention-style hotel that serves a mix of government contractors, Pentagon visitors, and DC tourists using Crystal City as a more affordable alternative to downtown hotels. The lobby has been updated with a modern design. There is no pool — Hyatt states this outright, and it catches people who expect one at a Regency this size. What the property does have is 70,000 square feet of meeting space across 28 rooms.
Check-In
Check-in is efficient and Globalist recognition is consistent. The staff is accustomed to frequent business travelers and handles requests professionally.
Standard King
The Standard King room is clean and comfortable with modern furnishings, a king bed, work desk, flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, and a Keurig coffee maker. The rooms have been refreshed and are a step up from the dated rooms that previously characterized this property. Airport-facing rooms can get some noise despite soundproofing.
Bathroom
The bathroom is standard Hyatt with a walk-in shower or tub/shower combo, single vanity, and Pharmacopia amenities. Functional and clean.
Restaurants & Bars
Cinnabar (Breakfast)
Standard breakfast buffet and à la carte options. Acceptable quality. Crystal City’s underground mall offers additional dining alternatives within a short walk.
Amenities
The StayFit gym is the whole recreation story: 24-hour access, more than 1,297 square feet, Peloton bikes among the cardio. No pool, no spa. Dining is Cinnabar on the second floor, the LobbiBar on the first, and a grab-and-go Market for coffee. Meeting space is the real business of this building — 70,000 square feet over 28 rooms, anchored by the 23,000-square-foot Independence Center exhibit hall, so expect badge lanyards in the lobby most weeks. Parking is valet only, with no self-park option: $50 a night for a sedan with in-and-out privileges, $60 for an SUV or larger, $18 for the first two hours if you are just visiting, and a flat $30 EV charging fee on top. There is a six-foot height limit in the garage. Dogs are welcome at $100 for up to six nights.
Getting There
The complimentary DCA shuttle runs roughly 4:20 a.m. to 12:40 a.m. at 20-minute intervals, which covers all but the very earliest departures. On foot, Crystal City Metro is about half a mile and Pentagon City Metro about a mile, both on the Blue and Yellow lines. The DASH bus stops at Jamieson Avenue. Within walking distance: 23rd Street Restaurant Row at 0.36 miles is the most useful thing near this hotel, with the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City 1.1 miles, the Air Force Memorial 1.55 miles and the National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial 1.56 miles.
Bottom Line
The Hyatt Regency Crystal City is a practical hotel choice for DC-area travel. The Metro access to DC, proximity to Reagan Airport, and lower rates compared to downtown DC hotels make it a smart value play. The rooms are clean and recently refreshed, and Globalist benefits add value. It is not exciting, but it is efficient — and in the DC area, efficiency matters.
