Location
Hyatt House Across from Universal Orlando Resort sits on Caravan Court, literally across the street from Universal’s main entrance and CityWalk. The location is the star here — you can walk to the parks in under ten minutes, which is a rarity for a reasonably priced Orlando hotel. International Drive’s restaurants and attractions are minutes away, and the I-4 corridor provides access to the rest of the Orlando theme park universe.
The Property
This Hyatt House caters heavily to the theme park crowd, and it shows in the vibrant, family-friendly common areas. The lobby is spacious with a modern aesthetic. An outdoor heated pool with a splash area keeps kids entertained after park hours. A 24-hour fitness center, business center, and the H Bar provide options for adults. The property is well-maintained and the staff clearly understand their audience — theme park tips and shuttle information are readily available.
Check-In
Check-in was smooth despite arriving during a busy period. Staff were cheerful and proactive about providing park information. World of Hyatt status was recognized, and late checkout was granted without issue.
King Suite
The King Suite offers a separate living room with sofa bed, a full kitchen with refrigerator, cooktop, microwave, and dishwasher, plus a dining area. The bedroom features a comfortable king bed with blackout curtains — essential when you’re waking up early for park rope drops. The room was clean and spacious enough for a family to spread out after a long day at the parks. The full kitchen is a game-changer for families trying to manage theme park budgets.
Bathroom
The bathroom is functional with a tub/shower combo (helpful for families with young children), single vanity, and Pharmacopia products. Adequate storage and counter space for a family’s toiletries.
Restaurants & Bars
Complimentary Breakfast
A hot breakfast buffet is included for all guests — scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, and pastries. Fueling up before a day at Universal is much cheaper here than inside the parks, making this a genuine perk for budget-conscious families.
H Bar
The lobby bar serves cocktails and light bites in the evening. After a full day of theme parks, it’s a welcome spot for parents to decompress.
Bottom Line
Hyatt House Across from Universal Orlando is one of the smarter choices for families visiting Universal. The proximity to the parks, full kitchen suites, free breakfast, and pool combine to create excellent value. It lacks the theming and perks of Universal’s on-site hotels (no Express Pass here), but for the price and the Hyatt points earning potential, it’s hard to beat.

Cash rates range from $150–$280/night depending on season. As a Category 3 Hyatt, free nights cost 12,000 World of Hyatt points. At $200/night, that’s 1.67 cents per point — slightly below the 1.8cpp Hyatt sweet spot. During peak season when rates climb above $250, the points math improves to 2.0+ cpp, making off-peak cash and peak-season points the optimal strategy here.
